چکیده

Wheat blast, caused by a fungal pathogen, Magnaporthe oryzae Tritichum (MoT) pathotype (wheat isolates), was first reported in Bangladesh among Asian countries 2016. It is serious disease of wheat causing yield failures and significant economic losses during epidemic years. Extensive use persistent synthetic pesticides to control notorious blast imposes enormous threat human health environment. In addition, the increasing demand for organic food has stimulated people look alternative methods. Nowadays, need chemical-free agricultural practices gaining importance due effective managing crop pests, inexpensive, biodegradable, easily available have low toxicity non-target organisms. order identify active plants, 12 kinds methanol extracts obtained from medicinal plants were conducted vitro test effect against Triticum pathotype. The remarkable inhibitory activity {(29.6 ± 01.5) mm, (25.1 01.0) mm (20.0 02.0) zone inhibition)} exhibited (5 mg/disk) Artemisia indica (Nagdona), Persicaria orientalis (Bishkatali) Clerodendrum indicum (Bamonhati), respectively. Other plant did not show any or no at all. Therefore, three might be promising source developing natural fungicides blast.

Natural Fungicides Obtained from Plants

Fungicides belong to a group of pesticides which inhibited fungal growth either causing damage to the cells or preventing the fungal development. As pesticides, they offer great economic and social benefits through the protection and preservation of materials, food and the prevention of diseases. Since pesticides are designed specifically to fight harmful or even dangerous life forms and theref...

Pathogenic Variation and Molecular Characterization of Pyricularia oryzae, Causal Agent of Rice Blast Disease in Tanzania

Rice blast disease, caused by the fungus Pyricularia oryzae, is one of the most devastating diseases of rice. Understanding pathogenic variation and molecular characterization of P. oryzae is one of the most efficient ways to manage the disease. Studies on identification, characterization and pathogenic variation of P. oryzae were conducted in the laboratory and screen-house at Sokoine Universi...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Screening Some Medicinal Plant Extracts Against Alternaria sesami, the Causal Agent of Alternaria Leaf Spot of Sesame

Natural plant extracts / products have the potential as safe alternatives for chemical fungicides in plant disease management. Methanol and pure methanol: water (50:50 v/v) extracts of peppermint, lavandula, eucalyptus, datura and nettle were screened for their antifungal activity against Alternaria sesami, the causal agent of Alternaria leaf spot of sesame at 5, 10 and 15% concentrations in Sh...

Equol, a Clinically Important Metabolite, Inhibits the Development and Pathogenicity of Magnaporthe oryzae, the Causal Agent of Rice Blast Disease.

Equol, a metabolite of soybean isoflavone daidzein, has been proven to have various bioactivities related to human health, but little is known on its antifungal activity to plant fungal pathogens. Magnaporthe oryzae is a phytopathogenic fungus that causes rice blast, a devastating disease on rice. Here, we demonstrated that equol influences the development and pathogenicity of M. oryzae. Equol ...
